Our approach to training is different.
It
is rooted in our vision of how training relates to business
change:
- Changes at the organisational level have impacts at the departmental level
- Gaps develop between organisational requirements and the skills available to fulfil those requirements
- The function of training is to close that gap
To provide effective training, it is essential to:
- Identify the change and assess the impact
- Measure the gap
- Deliver the right sort of training to the right people
Training is an investment; to be judged effective it must offer a measurable return.
How We Provide Effective Training
Analysing the Impact of Organisational Change
We have 18 years experience working with organisations to help them satisfy their training requirements. We have worked with large organisations (our first client was British Gas) right through to small niche businesses. Experience shows that the most effective training programmes are those where we been involved early on in the project cycle in assessing the factors which give rise to training needs.
Once the factors are identified we can assist in formulating the objectives of the training and the criteria against which its effectiveness is to be measured.
Measuring the Skills Gap
When it comes to identifying the
gap between what staff know and what they need to
know, objective measurement is essential.
A Distinctive Style of Training
Our style of training is different.
- We do not simply aim to teach which buttons to click - anyone can do that.
- We aim to provide a real understanding of how the software works and what it can do.
- We believe that training should be stimulating and memorable.
An example of an approach that we have pioneered is the use, where appropriate, of exercises involving discussion in pairs or small groups. These not only help to break down barriers and encourage team work but many delegates find that discussing and explaining things amongst themselves reinforces their understanding.
Measuring Return on Investment
After training has been delivered we can provide follow-up assessments to measure the effectiveness of the training against the criteria formulated earlier. What Next?
